CRM Expert Agency Partner

We run our whole agency on Attio, so this one is personal. Most CRMs box you into contacts and deals. Attio lets you build it around how your business actually works.

SEC.01WHAT IT IS

What is Attio?

Attio is a modern, fast, API-first CRM. The thing that sets it apart is that you shape it to your business with custom objects, instead of forcing your business into a fixed contacts-and-deals mold like older CRMs make you do. You model the things your business actually runs on, then wire the rest of your stack around them.

The other thing worth knowing up front: the parts that matter for building, the REST API, webhooks, and the SDK, are on every plan, including the free one. Most CRMs gate the API behind an enterprise contract. Attio does not. That is a big deal if you plan to automate anything. The trade is that Attio is a platform you model, not a pipeline you switch on. The flexibility is the point, and it is also the work.

SEC.02THE REAL PROBLEM

The real problem it solves.

Most teams run on a patchwork: a CRM for deals, a separate tool for delivery, a spreadsheet for billing, and a lot of copy pasta between them. The problem is not that they lack a CRM. The problem is they have no operational core. The same client lives in five places, none of them agree, and no one trusts any single view. A new CRM does not fix that on its own. Switch platforms and most teams rebuild the same mess inside ninety days, because the mess was never the software. It was the missing model.

The Detailed approach We make Attio the operational core, not a contact list.

Most teams use Attio as a nicer address book. We model the real business inside it, sales, delivery, and billing, then wire the rest of the stack around it so the data turns into pipeline instead of another tool to keep in sync. Already have a CRM you are committed to? We build the system around it. Attio is our preferred hub, not a requirement.

SEC.04IN PRACTICE

How we run our whole agency on it.

When we started Detailed, we wanted one operational core instead of the usual patchwork. We chose Attio and built the whole business on it, using custom objects, not just contacts and deals. Client Engagements hold the retainer: billing model, fees, start date, the rate-escalation schedule, and the keys that join to Stripe. Deliverables model the actual work natively in the CRM, one per service in scope, each seeded with its own tasks. So the full lifecycle lives on one platform. A deal converts into an engagement, which spawns its deliverables, which seed the tasks the team works. Sales, delivery, and billing, in one place that always agrees with itself.

Then we automated the busywork with the API and webhooks. A deal moves to closed won and a prefilled intake goes to the client, and their answers land back on the record where an orchestrator provisions the engagement, the deliverables, and the tasks. Website visitors that match our ICP get written to a list with their intent attached. Reporting pulls straight from Attio. It is wired into the rest of our stack: n8n, Clay, our sending engine, Stripe, and Slack. Everything we build for clients, we built and run for ourselves first.

Pro tip

Model delivery inside the CRM, not in a separate project tool. Most teams bolt a task app onto their CRM and then spend forever keeping the two in sync. We made delivery a native object in Attio, so a closed deal spawns the work automatically and sales, delivery, and billing never drift apart. The principle is simple. Wiring it so it runs itself without leaks is the hard part, and that is most of what we actually do for clients.

Who it is for

  • Teams that want to model their real business, not just contacts and deals
  • GTM and RevOps teams that will actually use the API and automation
  • Companies migrating off a rigid CRM or a pile of spreadsheets
  • Teams that want to own their data and move fast without waiting on an admin
  • Founders who want one operational core instead of five disconnected tools

Who it is NOT for

  • Teams that want a heavy pipeline configured out of the box with zero setup
  • Companies with no appetite to model or automate. You will underuse it
  • High-volume B2C or transactional CRM needs
  • Anyone who needs a long list of native, no-code integrations more than a clean API
SEC.05PRICING

Priced per seat. The API is on every plan.

No feature gating on the parts that matter for building. The REST API, webhooks, and the SDK are included on every tier, including the free one. Annual billing saves about 20%.

How we think about the tiers

  • Free is a real starting point, not a demo. Model your business, wire the API, no card required.
  • Pro is where most serious builds live: unlimited seats, twelve custom objects, sequences and call intelligence.
  • We run our own agency on Pro. Twelve objects is plenty (we use five), and unlimited seats matter once the CRM is your operational core.
  • Move up only when you outgrow the objects or seats below you, not for a feature you will not use.

SEC.06THE REAL PICTURE

Honest pros and cons.

We run our whole agency on it, so this is the real picture, not a feature list.

Pros

  • The API, webhooks, and SDK are on every plan, including free. Real automation is possible from day one
  • Custom objects let you model your actual business instead of bending it to fit contacts and deals
  • Fast and pleasant to use, which means the team actually keeps it current
  • Migrations from HubSpot, Salesforce, or spreadsheets are clean
  • Native lists, sequences, and reporting mean fewer bolt-on tools

Cons

  • Younger than Salesforce and HubSpot, so fewer off-the-shelf native integrations. You lean on the API and n8n more
  • Per-seat pricing adds up as the team grows
  • It is a platform you have to model. The power is also the work, and a team that wants to flip it on and go will underuse it
  • Building against the API has real gotchas (how select fields and upserts behave) that bite if you wire integrations without knowing them. This is exactly the kind of thing we handle for clients
SEC.07GET STARTED

Four steps from signup to an operational core.

STEP 01
Start on the free plan and add your team

Create your workspace, no card required, and bring the people who will actually use it. The free plan is enough to model your business and wire the API before you pay for anything.

STEP 02
Model your real business with custom objects

Do not just import contacts and deals. Add the objects your business actually runs on, the way we model engagements and deliverables, so the CRM reflects how you really operate instead of a generic template.

STEP 03
Connect your stack through the API and webhooks

Wire the tools around Attio so data flows in on its own: enrichment, outreach, billing, alerts. This is where an automation layer like n8n turns the CRM from a place you type into a place data arrives.

STEP 04
Automate the busywork so the CRM runs itself

Onboarding, routing, and reporting should happen without anyone remembering to do them. Wire it once and every new record, deal, or client moves through the same clean path. That is the difference between a CRM you maintain and one that works for you.
