Validation

Email validation is not rocket science. Doing it well, and trusting the result enough to send off it, is the whole game. We have run millions of addresses through every validator worth trying, and DeBounce is the one that keeps our bounce rates lowest.

SEC.01WHAT IT IS

What is DeBounce?

DeBounce is an email validation service. Before you send, it checks each address and tells you whether it is real and safe to mail. It catches invalid and mistyped addresses, catch-all domains, disposable and temporary inboxes, spam traps, and role accounts like info@ and sales@. You upload a list or call the API, and it returns a clean verdict per address. That is the whole job, and DeBounce does it fast and cheap.

It is not a complicated tool, and it should not be. What matters is accuracy you can trust and a result clear enough to act on without second-guessing. DeBounce gives you a simple safe-to-send signal, which is exactly what a sending pipeline needs. It also does more than clean a list. It can find emails and run light enrichment, so for smaller jobs it doubles as a lightweight data tool, not just a validator.

SEC.02WHY IT MATTERS

Bounce rate is what kills a sending domain.

Bounce rate is the fastest way to wreck a sending domain. Mailbox providers watch it closely, and a single batch sent to a dirty list can tank the reputation you spent weeks warming up. Once a domain is flagged, even your good emails start landing in spam. Validation is the cheap insurance against an expensive problem. It costs a fraction of a cent per address to check, and skipping it can cost you the domain.

Validation handles one side of deliverability: it stops the bounces before they happen. The other side is knowing where your good emails actually land once they send, inbox or spam folder. For that we pair it with a deliverability monitor like EmailGuard, which runs inbox-placement tests and watches your sending domains for blacklisting. A clean list going out, and a clear read on where it lands.

The Detailed take We tested every validator across millions of enrichments. DeBounce wins.

Deliverability is the whole job in cold email, so we do not guess at the validation layer. We have run millions of addresses through the validators that matter and checked the results against real bounce data. DeBounce came out on top. It catches the addresses that would have bounced without over-flagging the good ones, and it keeps our clients' bounce rates low enough to protect the domains. It also has a clean, well-documented API, which is why it slots straight into the systems we build instead of being one more manual step.

SEC.03IN PRACTICE

How we use it: the last gate before send.

DeBounce is the last gate before anything gets sent. After a list is sourced and enriched, every address runs through DeBounce, and only the ones it marks safe to send make it into the sending pipeline. Everything else is held back. That one rule, send only to validated addresses, is what keeps a warmed domain healthy over months of outbound instead of weeks.

We run validation through the API rather than uploading lists as a file, so contact data never sits on a third-party host waiting to be processed. It is a small choice that most people skip, choosing the lazy pre-configured waterfall instead.

Pro tip

Validate last, not first. Enrich your list, dedupe it, then validate right before the send, because an address that was good three months ago may be dead today. And treat the result as binary: only safe to send goes out. Catch-alls and unknowns feel tempting to include for volume, but they are exactly the addresses that quietly lift your bounce rate and put the domain at risk. The discipline is boring. That is why it works.

Who it is for

  • Anyone running cold email who wants to protect their sending domains
  • Teams sending to lists they sourced or enriched, where addresses go stale
  • Agencies and operators who need a validation step that drops into a pipeline by API
  • Budget-conscious teams who want accuracy without a monthly subscription
  • Teams that want validation plus light email finding in one cheap tool

Who it is NOT for

  • Teams that only ever email opted-in, freshly collected contacts, where the need is lower
  • Anyone expecting validation to fix bad targeting. It cleans a list, it does not make it relevant
  • Use cases that need deep, multi-source enrichment. DeBounce does light enrichment, but a dedicated data platform goes further
SEC.04PRICING

Pay as you go. Credits never expire.

No subscription required. You buy credits, you spend one per address checked, and unused credits stick around. Every feature, bulk validation, the API, integrations, and list monitoring, is included at every level. New accounts get free credits to test it first.

How we think about it

  • The free signup credits are enough to test accuracy on a real slice of your list before you pay.
  • Pay-as-you-go suits most teams: buy a pack, use it across campaigns, top up when you run low.
  • The per-address price drops as you buy bigger packs, so batch your buying if you validate at volume.
  • One credit equals one address checked. Simple to budget against a list size.

From about $0.003 per address, dropping toward $0.00065 on the largest 2M plan. Credits never expire. Monthly plans exist too, but pay-as-you-go fits most outbound teams. Verified July 2026.

SEC.05THE REAL PICTURE

Honest pros and cons.

We run every client list through it, so this is the real picture, not a feature list.

Pros

  • Accurate. In our testing it catches what would bounce without over-flagging good addresses
  • Cheap, with no required subscription and credits that never expire
  • A clean, well-documented API that drops straight into an automated pipeline
  • Fast, even on large lists
  • Extra safeguards built in: catch-all detection, spam-trap and disposable filtering, role-account flags

Cons

  • Validation is the core strength. It also finds emails and does light enrichment, but for deep, multi-source enrichment you will still want a dedicated data platform
  • Catch-all domains return an unknown by nature, so some good addresses get held back. That is the safe trade
  • The dashboard is functional, not fancy. You are buying accuracy, not polish
  • No amount of validation fixes a poorly targeted list
SEC.06GET STARTED

Four steps to a clean list.

STEP 01
Sign up and test on a real slice

Use the free signup credits to validate a few hundred of your actual addresses. Accuracy is the only thing that matters, so test it on your data, not a demo list.

STEP 02
Validate through the API, or upload a list

For a one-off cleanup, upload the file in the dashboard. For anything recurring, use the API so validation runs automatically as part of your pipeline, with no list files sitting on a third-party host.

STEP 03
Send only to safe to send

Take the addresses DeBounce marks safe and send to those. Hold everything else. This single rule is what protects your domain more than any copy tweak.

STEP 04
Make it the last step before every send

Addresses go stale, so validate right before you send, not once at the start. Wire it in once and every campaign inherits a clean list automatically.
